Core Understanding — What Is This Product?

So glad you're asking this, because we spent a lot of time thinking about exactly this question when we were building Cera Hydrate.

Most moisturizers on the market do one thing — they put moisture on top of your skin. That helps temporarily, but if your skin's natural barrier is weak or depleted, that moisture just evaporates right back out. What we wanted to make was a moisturizer that actually addresses both: deeply hydrating your skin AND helping it hold on to that hydration by strengthening the barrier itself.

In simple terms, your skin has a protective "wall" made of natural lipids and proteins. When that wall is strong, moisture stays in, irritants stay out, and skin looks and feels healthy. When it's weakened — by sun exposure, pollution, over-cleansing, harsh actives, or just day-to-day stress — skin becomes dry, tight, sensitive, and dull.

Cera Hydrate was built around three things we kept hearing from Indian skin care users: deeply moisturize, soften dry skin, and bring back that healthy glow — without loading skin with unnecessary chemicals. That became the product.

It is suitable for daily use on both your face and body, and it's completely paraben-free, vegan, and formulated with an allergen-free fragrance system.

Honestly? We think the honest answer to this is the ingredients list — so let us walk you through it rather than just making claims.

A lot of moisturizers in this price range are built around water and a basic emollient or two. They do the job on the surface. What we did differently with Cera Hydrate was stack multiple hydration mechanisms into one formula:

  • Hyaluronic Acid lands at position 3 in our INCI list — that's not a trace amount on the label. It's a meaningful concentration of one of the most effective hydrating molecules science has found.
  • Three complementary plant oils — Jojoba, Almond, and Avocado — each one doing something slightly different. Jojoba mimics skin's own sebum. Almond softens rough texture. Avocado goes deeper for genuinely dehydrated skin.
  • Niacinamide for brightening and sebum regulation — something most basic moisturizers don't bother including.
  • A botanical complex with Aloe Vera, Rose Extract, and Sandalwood Oil — an Indian skin-relevant set of ingredients we were personally excited about including.
  • Allantoin for genuine skin calming — not just fragrance-masking the irritation problem.

We also made it paraben-free and used an allergen-free fragrance system — so you're not solving a hydration problem while introducing a sensitivity problem. We cared about the whole formula, not just the hero ingredient on the label.

ℹ Rich Cream

Cera Hydrate is a cream — and we want to be upfront about that so there are no surprises when you open the tube. It has a rich, creamy texture. It's not a lightweight gel or a watery lotion.

We made that choice intentionally. A rich cream provides a level of barrier protection and moisture-locking that lighter gel textures simply can't match. For the barrier-repair purpose we built this around, you need the formula to sit on the skin long enough to do its job.

That said — a little goes a long way. A thin, even layer massaged in properly absorbs beautifully. You don't need a thick slather of it. Start with a small amount and build up based on how your skin feels.

If you're used to gel moisturizers and have oily skin, the texture will feel different — richer. Apply a thin layer and give it a few minutes. Most of our oily skin customers adapt to it quickly, especially for night use.

This is one of our favourite questions to answer because it gets to the heart of why we named this product "Cera Hydrate."

Ceramides are lipids — essentially fats — that naturally make up roughly 50% of your skin's outermost protective layer. Think of your skin like a brick wall: the skin cells are the bricks, and ceramides are the mortar holding them together. When the mortar weakens, the wall becomes porous — moisture escapes, irritants get in, and skin becomes reactive, dry, and dull.

For Indian skin specifically, this matters more than many people realise. Our UV intensity, the pollution in most Indian cities, the jarring seasonal shifts between dry winters and humid summers, and the over-cleansing habits many of us develop to combat oiliness — all of these are major barrier disruptors. A ceramide-focussed moisturizer is not a luxury here. It's genuinely corrective skincare.

The name "Cera Hydrate" and our tagline "Advanced Ceramide Hydration Therapy" reflect the philosophy we built this product around — ceramides as the anchor of everything else the formula does.

We built Cera Hydrate to address the most common skin complaints we kept hearing from people — especially in the Indian context. Here's what the formula is actively working on:

  • 🔸 Dryness, flakiness, and tight skin — the most direct use case. Hyaluronic Acid + Glycerin + our triple-oil blend address this on multiple levels.
  • 🔸 Weakened skin barrier — the underlying cause behind a lot of sensitivity and recurring dryness.
  • 🔸 Dullness and uneven skin tone — Niacinamide and our botanical complex (Rose Extract, Vitamin E, Sandalwood Oil) collectively work on this.
  • 🔸 Redness and skin sensitivity — Aloe Vera and Allantoin are both evidence-backed calming agents. Using an allergen-free fragrance system also removes a very common irritation trigger.
  • 🔸 Loss of elasticity and firmness — consistent barrier repair and deep hydration both contribute to improved skin resilience over time.

We'll be honest with you — Cera Hydrate is not a targeted pigmentation treatment. If hyperpigmentation or deep acne scarring is your primary concern, our De-Pigmentation Serum is more specifically designed for that. But Cera Hydrate makes a great supporting partner: a healthy, hydrated barrier makes every active serum you use work more effectively.

✓ Daily use is exactly the point

Yes — and honestly, daily use is how this product works best. Barrier repair and sustained hydration are not one-time results. They happen gradually, consistently, over weeks of daily use. We recommend twice a day — morning and night — for the best results, and that's what you'll find on the packaging too.

Ceramides replenish lipids that are continuously depleted by everyday life — cleansing, sun exposure, wind, AC, pollution. Topping them up morning and night is how you stay ahead of that depletion rather than playing catch-up.

It's suitable for daily use on your face, neck, and body. Think of it the same way you think about sunscreen — it's a daily habit, not an occasional treatment.

🧬
Section 02

Skin Type Suitability

We hear this a lot — and we get why. The instinct with oily skin is to avoid anything that sounds "moisturizing" because it might add to the grease. But here's what we want you to know: oiliness and dehydration are two completely different things, and oily skin can absolutely be dehydrated.

When your skin is dehydrated but not moisturized, it actually compensates by producing more oil. So skipping moisturizer with oily skin often makes things worse over time.

Cera Hydrate is marked Suitable For All Skin Types on the packaging — that includes oily and acne-prone skin. Here's why we're confident about that:

  • Niacinamide — one of the few ingredients clinically proven to regulate sebum production. It literally helps your skin produce less oil over time.
  • Jojoba Oil — this one surprises people. Jojoba is structurally so similar to skin's own sebum that it's actually considered non-comedogenic. It doesn't sit on top and clog pores the way heavy occlusive oils do.
  • No harsh irritants — paraben-free and allergen-free fragrance means we're not triggering inflammatory reactions that can worsen breakouts.

Our honest advice for oily or acne-prone skin: start with a very thin layer. You don't need a lot. Apply on clean skin, massage until fully absorbed, and let it settle before sunscreen or makeup. And always do a patch test first — even a formula this gentle deserves that check on your individual skin.

If you have severe active acne, check in with your dermatologist before adding new products to your routine — this is good advice for any new skincare product, not just ours.
✓ This is exactly who we made it for

Dry, flaky skin was honestly at the centre of our mind when we formulated Cera Hydrate. We wanted something that would address dryness at multiple levels — not just on the surface, but deep into the skin layers where dehydration actually lives.

Here's how the formula tackles dryness from three angles:

Hyaluronic Acid
Pulls moisture from the environment into your skin — the most effective humectant available
Glycerin
Attracts and holds water at the skin's surface — immediately relieves tight, uncomfortable dryness
Avocado Oil
Rich in fatty acids — works on very dry, depleted skin that needs real nourishment, not just surface moisture
Almond Oil
Softens rough, flaky patches and improves the feel of skin texture noticeably
Jojoba Oil
Mimics skin's sebum — provides a protective coating that slows moisture evaporation throughout the day
Vitamin E
Antioxidant + emollient — prevents moisture loss, softens, and protects dry or cracked areas

The rich, creamy texture is also an intentional choice for dry skin — it provides the occlusive (moisture-sealing) benefit that lightweight gels or thin lotions simply cannot. Apply generously at night especially, and let the formula do its work while you sleep. Many of our dry skin customers notice a real difference within the first week.

Sensitive skin was one of our key considerations throughout the formulation process. We were very deliberate about what we chose to leave out, not just what we put in.

The packaging directly addresses this: "Perfect for sensitive skin, the formula is free from harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances."

Here's what that means in practice:

  • We use an Allergen-Free Fragrance — not a conventional perfume. The 26 known EU allergens are excluded from our fragrance system. This removes one of the most common triggers of skincare reactions.
  • Paraben-free formulation — parabens are a well-known skin sensitizer, especially for reactive skin types.
  • Allantoin — a genuinely clinically established skin-calming ingredient. Not just a nice-to-have, but an active that measurably reduces irritation responses.
  • Aloe Vera Extract — cooling and anti-inflammatory. It's been used for sensitive, reactive Indian skin for generations, and the science strongly backs its effectiveness.

That said — every person's skin is unique, and we genuinely mean it when we say: always do a patch test first. Apply a small amount on your inner arm or behind your ear, wait 24 hours, and see how your skin responds before using it on your full face. This is printed on our packaging for good reason. It takes 24 hours and could save you a lot of discomfort.

✓ Good choice for post-treatment recovery

Actually, a barrier-repair moisturizer is exactly what dermatologists typically recommend after procedures like chemical peels, microneedling, or intensive active-ingredient use. These treatments deliberately disrupt your skin's barrier to stimulate renewal — which means your skin is temporarily more vulnerable than usual and needs support to recover.

Cera Hydrate's Aloe Vera, Allantoin, Vitamin E, and plant oils are all well-suited to that post-treatment support role. They calm, protect, and help the skin rebuild without introducing aggressive actives into an already-sensitized barrier.

Our practical advice: wait for the immediate post-procedure period to pass (typically 24–48 hours, or as directed by your dermatologist), then begin using Cera Hydrate twice daily as normal. Don't rush to layer multiple products during recovery — let the barrier heal first. And please always follow your specific dermatologist's post-treatment guidance; they know your skin's individual needs.

Combination skin is actually one of the most common skin types we hear from — especially among Indian customers where the face can be genuinely oily in the forehead and nose area while the cheeks feel dry or tight. It's frustrating because most moisturizers are designed for one or the other.

The good news is that Cera Hydrate works on both challenges. The key is application technique rather than one-size-fits-all usage:

  • Apply a thicker, more generous layer on dry cheeks, jawline, and any areas that feel tight or flaky
  • Apply a thinner layer on the T-zone, or skip certain parts of it entirely if you're very oily there
  • Massage thoroughly until fully absorbed before layering anything else

The Niacinamide in the formula is genuinely helpful here — it actively helps regulate sebum in the oily zones while simultaneously supporting hydration in the dry zones. With consistent twice-daily use over a few weeks, many combination skin users find their skin becomes more balanced overall.

Section 03

Hydration & Barrier Repair

Barrier repair is genuinely the purpose this product was built around — it's in our tagline on the front of the box: "Advanced Ceramide Hydration Therapy Repair Faster."

We want to be real with you about timing, though. You'll feel a difference — in comfort, softness, and that "tight" skin feeling going away — within the first few applications. The Aloe Vera, Allantoin, Glycerin, and Hyaluronic Acid all work relatively quickly on the surface.

But meaningful, lasting barrier repair — where your skin becomes genuinely more resilient, less reactive, and holds its own moisture better — takes consistent use. Clinical research on barrier-repair moisturizers generally shows measurable improvement over 2–4 weeks of twice-daily use. The barrier doesn't rebuild overnight. It's a gradual process of replenishing the lipid matrix that holds your skin cells together.

Our honest recommendation for compromised barriers: If your skin is in a reactive, sensitized state — stinging from products it didn't use to bother you, looking red and patchy — simplify your routine for a few weeks. Just Cera Hydrate twice a day, a gentle cleanser, and our SPF 50 sunscreen on top. Let the barrier heal before introducing any actives. It's the most effective thing you can do.

We describe Cera Hydrate as providing long-lasting hydration and softness — and the formula is designed to "lock in moisture" rather than just deposit it on the surface. The difference matters: a humectant alone (like a basic HA serum) draws moisture in but doesn't seal it. Cera Hydrate's cream base with plant oils provides that sealing, occlusive layer that slows moisture evaporation throughout the day.

In practice, how long it lasts depends on your skin type and environment:

Skin TypeTypical DurationOur Tip
Dry skin6–10 hoursApply twice daily as we recommend; use generously at night
Normal skin8–12 hoursMorning application often sufficient; top up at night
Combination6–8 hours in dry areasSpot-apply a little extra on dry patches if needed mid-day
Oily skin4–6 hoursThin layer; focus on genuinely dry areas only

Twice-daily use is our recommendation because it's how the formula builds cumulative benefit — morning hydration + night repair together is more effective than either alone.

Yes to both — and this is one of the improvements our customers notice most clearly with consistent use.

That feeling of tightness after washing your face? That's a classic sign of a depleted barrier and dehydrated skin. Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin address the dehydration. The plant oils address the lipid depletion. The cream base seals everything in. When all three work together, that tight, uncomfortable feeling usually disappears within the first few applications.

For skin texture, we're proud of the combination of Xylitylglucoside (a gentle sugar-based moisturizer that specifically helps improve smoothness and softness), Niacinamide (which visibly refines pores and surface texture with regular use), and the packaging statement that the product is designed to "improve skin elasticity and firmness" — leaving skin visibly healthier with regular application. These are not overnight results; give it 3–4 weeks of twice-daily use and notice the difference.

Let us go through each one clearly:

Paraben-Free: Yes — and this is something we're proud enough of that it's on a dedicated badge on our packaging. No parabens, full stop.

Fragrance: We use an Allergen-Free Fragrance — which we want to be clear is very different from conventional perfume or artificial fragrance. It means the 26 known EU allergen compounds are deliberately excluded from the fragrance system we use. The packaging back panel confirms we're "free from harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances." We made this choice specifically for sensitive skin compatibility.

Drying alcohol: No. There is no ethyl alcohol, SD alcohol, or denatured alcohol in this formula. The Cetearyl Alcohol you'll see in the ingredients list is a fatty alcohol — a completely different category. Fatty alcohols are skin-conditioning emollients and emulsifiers. They're found in high-quality moisturizers globally and are nourishing, not drying.

Sulfate-Free: Yes — no sulfates are present anywhere in the formula.

Long-term daily use: Completely safe. The formula uses globally approved cosmetic-grade ingredients at standard concentrations. There are no aggressive actives, no high-dose acids, nothing that accumulates or sensitizes over time. We designed it to be a gentle everyday staple — the kind of product that becomes a permanent part of your routine, not something you cycle on and off.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding — honest answer:

We want to be upfront here. Our formula contains Octyl Methoxycinnamate — a UV filter that is globally approved for topical cosmetic use. Some studies have detected it at trace levels in breast milk with prolonged skin application, though it is considered safe for normal topical use. Out of an abundance of caution, we would always recommend that pregnant or breastfeeding customers check with their OB-GYN or dermatologist before use — not because we believe there is a specific risk, but because this is the right standard of care during pregnancy. Most of the other ingredients in the formula (Niacinamide, Glycerin, Aloe Vera, plant oils, Hyaluronic Acid) are widely considered safe during pregnancy.
Section 05

Texture, Feel & Finish

Honest answer: Cera Hydrate has a rich, creamy texture — so yes, it's more substantial than a gel. We want to set that expectation clearly rather than let you discover it as a surprise.

We made this choice because a rich cream delivers genuinely better barrier protection and moisture-locking than a lightweight gel can. For the barrier-repair purpose we built this around, you need the formula to form a real film on the skin.

That said — greasy doesn't have to follow rich. The key is how much you use and how you apply it. A small amount, massaged thoroughly with upward strokes until fully absorbed (our packaging instructions for a reason) should feel comfortable on most skin types, not heavy or greasy.

Our tip: Start with less than you think you need. Pea-to-hazelnut size for face and neck. Massage it in properly — we mean the full "upward and outward strokes until fully absorbed" routine from the packaging. If your skin is very oily, apply in the evening when skin needs it more and use a lighter touch in the morning.

Given the rich cream texture and natural oil content (Jojoba, Almond, Avocado), Cera Hydrate gives a natural-to-dewy finish. For dry skin — this is a beautiful, healthy, luminous look. The packaging says it "promotes healthy glow" and we genuinely see that in the finish.

For oily skin: yes, this may read as slightly shiny, which is why a thin layer and proper massage-in technique matters. The Niacinamide works on sebum regulation over time, so the shiny appearance typically reduces as your skin adjusts with regular use.

Under makeup: Works really well, especially for dry skin types who struggle with cakey foundation. Apply, massage in, wait 5–10 minutes for full absorption, then apply your SPF 50 on top, and then makeup. The cream base gives a smooth, hydrated canvas that helps makeup sit and last better.

This is a fair concern with any oil-containing cream, so we want to address it directly. The oils we chose — Jojoba, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride — are among the lowest-risk options on the comedogenicity scale. Jojoba in particular is well-known for being structurally similar to skin's sebum, which makes it one of the least pore-clogging oils available.

Almond and Avocado oils have a slightly higher theoretical comedogenicity rating in isolation, but in an emulsion formulation at cosmetic concentrations they behave very differently than they would applied pure. The diluted, balanced formula significantly reduces the practical risk.

Our practical advice: always apply on freshly cleansed skin (as we recommend in the How to Use section). Moisturizer applied over buildup of sebum, sunscreen, and dead skin is far more likely to cause congestion than the moisturizer itself. Cleanse thoroughly, then apply Cera Hydrate and you're starting with a clean slate every time.

🕐
Section 06

Usage & Routine

The how-to on the packaging is genuinely the right approach — we thought hard about each step:

  1. Cleanse your skin thoroughly — this is non-negotiable. Everything else depends on clean skin.
  2. Take a generous amount — don't be stingy, but don't overdo it. Hazelnut-sized for face and neck is a good starting point.
  3. Apply on face, neck, and body — we made this formula for full exposed skin, not just your face.
  4. Spread evenly — cover all areas, don't leave patches.
  5. Massage with upward and outward strokes — this helps with absorption and also gives your skin a gentle lymphatic drainage stimulus. It makes a difference.
  6. Continue until fully absorbed — this is the step people most often rush. Take 60 seconds. The product works better when properly absorbed rather than sitting on top.
Our suggested AM routine: Cleanse → Cera Hydrate → wait 3–5 min → Mumcure SPF 50 → makeup (optional)

Our suggested PM routine: Cleanse → serum if using → Cera Hydrate (use a bit more generously at night — this is when your skin repairs itself most actively)

And yes — twice a day is our recommendation. Morning and night. That's how you get the consistent barrier-repair benefit.

Always after serum — thinnest to thickest is the rule in skincare layering. Your serum has the concentrated actives; the moisturizer goes on top to lock those actives in and then add its own layer of hydration and protection on top.

On using with actives — we actually think Cera Hydrate pairs really well with treatments because of its barrier-repair positioning:

  • Retinol: Retinol can cause dryness and irritation, especially when you're starting out. A barrier-repair moisturizer like ours is exactly what you want alongside it. Apply retinol, wait 20–30 minutes, then layer Cera Hydrate on top. Your skin will thank you.
  • Vitamin C Serum (like our own Mumcure Vitamin C Serum): Perfect pairing. Serum first, then Cera Hydrate seals it in.
  • AHA/BHA exfoliants: Apply the exfoliant, wait the recommended time, then use Cera Hydrate to calm and re-moisturize. The Allantoin and Aloe Vera in the formula are especially helpful after exfoliation.
  • Niacinamide serums: No conflict — Cera Hydrate already has Niacinamide. Stacking is fine.

For most people — no, you don't need a separate night cream. Using Cera Hydrate generously at night gives you a strong overnight repair and hydration dose. The rich cream texture is particularly well-suited for night use when your skin is doing its most active repair and regeneration work.

The only exception: if your skin is severely dry, damaged, or in active barrier recovery, some people like to layer a few drops of a facial oil on top of the moisturizer at night for extra nourishment. This is completely optional — it's a "more is more" approach for times when your skin needs intensive care. Cera Hydrate alone is sufficient for healthy daily skin maintenance.

⚠️
Section 07

Side Effects & Concerns

This is such an important question and we want to answer it honestly rather than just say "our product won't cause breakouts" — because the truth is more nuanced than that.

When breakouts follow a new moisturizer, there are usually three culprits:

  • Over-application — using too much of any moisturizer, especially a richer cream, can overwhelm your skin. Start with a thin layer.
  • Not cleansing properly before application — applying moisturizer over a layer of sunscreen, sebum, and dead skin significantly increases clogging risk. Always cleanse first. This is on our packaging for a reason.
  • Individual skin reaction — even with the gentlest formula, someone's skin can react to a specific ingredient. That's why we put the patch test instruction on the box. It takes 24 hours and tells you what you need to know before committing to full-face use.

For our formula specifically — the oils we chose (Jojoba, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride) are low-risk for pore-clogging, and Niacinamide actually helps regulate the oil production that contributes to breakouts over time.

If after 2 weeks of consistent, correct use you're still experiencing breakouts, discontinue and reach out to us at info@mumcure.in. We'd rather understand what's happening than have you push through something that's not working.

We appreciate the question — it shows thoughtful skincare habits. The honest answer is that with a gentle hydrating moisturizer like Cera Hydrate, over-application is not a serious safety concern. The formula doesn't contain high-dose actives that accumulate or irritate with excess use.

That said, using significantly more than needed doesn't mean you'll get significantly better results either. The skin can only absorb and use so much. Following our twice-daily recommendation with a generous but sensible amount is the right approach — not because using more would cause harm, but because it would just be wasteful product without added skin benefit.

Think of it this way: the goal is a well-maintained, balanced skin barrier — not maximum product application. Twice a day, consistent, correctly applied. That's the sweet spot.

Section 08

Climate & Lifestyle — India-Specific

We are a Delhi brand — headquartered in North West Delhi, manufactured in Nangloi — and yes, the Indian climate context shaped every decision we made with Cera Hydrate.

We know what Delhi skin goes through. We know the brutal dry winters where skin cracks and flakes. We know the long months of AC exposure — in offices, cars, malls — that strip skin of moisture continuously. We know the seasonal whiplash between the dry cold of January and the humid heat of July. We know that skin in a city like Delhi is dealing with pollution, UV, and climate stress simultaneously, year-round.

For Indian winters and AC environments: Cera Hydrate excels. This is its peak use case. The rich cream texture, deep hydration, and barrier-repair philosophy are exactly what skin stripped by cold air and air conditioning needs.

For Indian summer and high humidity: we'll be honest — the rich cream texture is better suited as a night-time product in peak summer months (May–July), or in thin amounts during the day. In high heat and humidity, many customers naturally use a bit less product and find it works perfectly that way. The formula isn't heavy in a film-forming way — it absorbs — but a lighter touch in extreme humidity is a sensible adaptation.

The Sandalwood Oil, Aloe Vera, and Allergen-Free Fragrance choices in our formula are also quite intentional from an Indian context — these are ingredients well-matched to Indian skin sensitivities and traditions.

Yes — and honestly, travel is one of the best use cases for Cera Hydrate. Airplane cabin air is aggressively dehydrating (cabin humidity typically sits at 10–20%, compared to 30–60% in a comfortable room). Long flights are some of the most barrier-disrupting experiences your skin goes through.

At 50 ml, Cera Hydrate falls within standard airline carry-on liquid limits (under 100 ml), so you can take it in your hand luggage without any issue. Store in a cool, dry place when travelling, and close the cap tightly after use — which is standard packaging guidance anyway. The 36-month shelf life means you don't need to worry about using it up quickly.

Comparison & Buying Decisions

We're going to give you an honest comparison, not a competitive takedown. These are good products, and different things work for different people.

CeraVe is genuinely excellent and has strong clinical dermatology backing for ceramide content — we respect that product. It's also 2–3× the price for Indian buyers. Cetaphil is trusted for basic, gentle sensitive-skin use but has a simpler formula and does contain parabens. Minimalist is a solid, honest Indian brand at a lower price point but simpler formulas.

Where we think Cera Hydrate stands out: ingredient richness for the price, Indian climate relevance, paraben-free formulation, and the botanical actives (Sandalwood, Rose, Aloe, Allantoin) that aren't typically found at this price point elsewhere.

We're obviously biased, so let us just give you the numbers and let you decide.

₹649 ÷ 50 ml = ₹12.98/ml (as printed on the packaging).

If you're using it twice daily on face and neck as recommended — roughly 5–7 weeks per tube. Face and body use will go through it faster. Conservative face-only use in smaller amounts could stretch to 2 months. So you're looking at approximately ₹350–500/month depending on how you use it.

For context: Hyaluronic Acid serum alone from most brands costs ₹400–800. Niacinamide serum alone is another ₹300–600. A botanical facial oil with Jojoba and Avocado could easily be another ₹500+. We've put all of those into one moisturizer at ₹649.

We also stand behind it with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If it doesn't work for your skin, we want to know and we'll make it right. That's the confidence we have in the product.

Dermatology & Expert Questions

Ceramide-based moisturizers are among the most clinically recommended moisturizer categories globally. The American Academy of Dermatology, the British Association of Dermatologists, and IADVL in India all specifically recommend ceramide-containing moisturizers for dry, sensitive, barrier-compromised, and eczema-prone skin.

The science behind it is clear and not controversial: ceramides are the dominant lipid in the skin barrier, their depletion is a primary mechanism behind skin dryness and sensitivity, and topically replenishing them has measurable clinical benefit. This is not marketing language — it's well-established dermatology.

The formulation philosophy behind Cera Hydrate — layering ceramides with humectants (HA, Glycerin) and emollients (our triple-oil blend) — actually aligns with what dermatologists call "three-tier moisturization," which is considered the optimal approach to sustained hydration and barrier repair.

For specific skin conditions — eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, severe perioral dermatitis — please consult your dermatologist before starting any new skincare product. Our formula is designed to be gentle and supportive, but a doctor who knows your skin's history is irreplaceable.

Post-acne treatment recovery: Yes, this is actually one of the most practical uses for Cera Hydrate. When you're on oral isotretinoin (Accutane), topical retinoids, or benzoyl peroxide — all of which significantly dry out and sensitize the skin — a gentle barrier-repair moisturizer is one of the first things dermatologists recommend alongside treatment to keep skin comfortable and improve compliance. Our Aloe Vera, Allantoin, and ceramide-based formula is a good fit for this role.

Always follow your treating dermatologist's specific guidance on what products to use during active treatment.

Redness: The Aloe Vera Extract and Allantoin in our formula are both evidence-backed calming agents that can measurably reduce the appearance of temporary redness and skin reactivity. For persistent redness from conditions like rosacea — a moisturizer is supportive, not curative. Cera Hydrate can help manage comfort and reduce reactivity triggers, but please see a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment of rosacea.

People Also Ask

We're obviously going to think ours is a great choice — but let us explain the reasoning so you can judge for yourself.

Dry skin in India has some specific challenges that moisturizers designed for Western climates don't always address well. The jarring seasonal shift between bone-dry Delhi winters and humid summers means you need a formula that can adapt. The UV intensity means your barrier is taking damage that needs repair. The pollution levels mean your skin is under oxidative stress continuously.

The best moisturizer for Indian dry skin should have three things working together: something to attract moisture (humectant — we have Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin), something to soften and smooth (emollients — we have Jojoba, Almond, and Avocado Oil), and something to seal it all in (occlusive — our cream base). Cera Hydrate has all three in one formula.

Add the Niacinamide for tone and sebum regulation, the botanical complex for soothing, and the paraben-free, allergen-free fragrance system — and you have a formula built specifically for the full scope of what Indian skin deals with.

✓ Please don't skip it

We hear this from so many of our customers with oily skin — the idea that moisturizer will make things worse. It's one of the most persistent skincare myths we encounter.

Here's the truth: oiliness and hydration are two completely separate things. Your skin can be oily from excess sebum production AND dehydrated from lack of water content at the same time. When you skip moisturizer with oily skin, your skin often responds to the hydration deficit by producing even more oil as a compensating mechanism. So skipping moisturizer can actually make you oilier over time.

The Niacinamide in Cera Hydrate actively helps regulate sebum production. With consistent twice-daily use, many oily skin customers find their skin becomes more balanced — less oily, less reactive, more comfortable — within a few weeks. The key for oily skin is using the right amount (less is more) and applying correctly on clean skin.

Cera Hydrate isn't a dedicated brightening serum — we want to be honest about that. If targeted pigmentation treatment is your primary goal, our De-Pigmentation Serum is more specifically designed for that job.

But Cera Hydrate does contribute meaningfully to brighter, more even-toned skin through its ingredients:

  • Niacinamide is one of the most evidence-backed brightening actives available. It works by reducing the transfer of melanin pigment to the skin's surface — visibly fading dark spots and evening overall tone with consistent use over weeks.
  • Vitamin E, Rose Extract, and Sandalwood Oil collectively reduce oxidative stress and provide mild brightening support.

The packaging also confirms we designed Cera Hydrate to "promote healthy glow" — and you can see it in the skin quality improvements with regular use. Hydrated, barrier-protected skin simply looks more luminous. Add our SPF 50 sunscreen on top (essential — no brightening active works effectively without UV protection) and our Vitamin C Serum for a comprehensive brightening routine.

This is something a lot of people don't recognise until they know what to look for. Here are the signs we ask people to notice:

  • Skin that stings or burns when you apply water, serums, or even a gentle moisturizer — products that used to be fine now feel irritating
  • Persistent tightness after cleansing that doesn't fully go away
  • Skin that looks dull and lifeless even though you're hydrating it
  • Flakiness or rough patches that keep coming back
  • Breakouts or sensitivity that seem to come from nowhere
  • A feeling that your skin can't hold moisture — it dries out almost immediately

If three or more of those resonate with you, your barrier is likely compromised. Our recommendation: simplify your routine for 4–6 weeks. Gentle cleanser, Cera Hydrate twice daily, SPF 50 on top. No active treatments during that period. Let the barrier rebuild. Most people are honestly surprised by how much their skin improves when they stop fighting it and start supporting it instead.

We've thought about this a lot — it's central to why we started Mumcure. Indian skin has specific needs that generic international moisturizers don't always address. Here's what we think the checklist should look like:

  1. Match the texture to your skin type — cream for dry/normal, lighter gel for oily, cream at night for combination skin
  2. Humectant present (Hyaluronic Acid or Glycerin) to actively attract water into skin
  3. Emollient present (plant oils or fatty acids) to smooth, soften, and protect
  4. Barrier support — ceramides, fatty acids, or protective ingredients that strengthen rather than just coat
  5. Clean formulation — paraben-free, allergen-aware fragrance
  6. Season-aware use — richer application in winter/AC, lighter in peak summer
  7. Always pair with SPF — moisturizer is not sun protection. Sunscreen is non-negotiable on top.

We built Cera Hydrate around exactly this checklist. And the Sandalwood Oil, Aloe Vera, and Rose Extract choices in the formula are specifically rooted in what Indian skin responds well to — not just imported ingredient trends.

Skin that's truly hydrated from within.
